Hitting the road again!

It's been a very busy summer here in the Daley family. We had our 10th Anniversary Sale back in August, my oldest son started kindergarten, then he broke his arm, and now, as summer ends, I'm getting ready to head out to events once again.

This Fall we'll be at two reenactments; Perryville and Cedar Creek. We've done Cedar Creek the last few years and I'm sure this year will be another great one. I've never been to Perryville, so I'm excited to check out that battlefield and meet some of my western customers. If you get a chance, please stop by and see us on sutler row at these events.

We've also got some specials on our overcoats running this Fall, just in time for the dropping temperatures and falling snow.

Federal Greatcoats on Sale until September 30th

Whether you're standing on picket at 3:00 am, making the long walk to sutler row or just dealing with the winter winds at a living history, a Federal Issue overcoat can even the odds between you and old man winter.

This month we're offering a sale on overcoats. Normally the coats are $425, but this month we're reducing the price to $385.

Hooded Overcoats on Sale until October 31st

Ever needed another layer of clothing, but didn't want to lug around a heavy caped overcoat all day? A Confederate hooded overcoat is just the thing for you.

Copied from the coat worn by Private DFC Weller and now housed in the Kentucky Historical Society, this coat has several unique and practical features, including a hood that is great for keeping the wind off your neck!

The coat has two outside pockets --  perfect for storing items you need easy access to -- but also has two vents in the side seam which allow the wearer to get to his trowser pockets without opening the coat or taking off accoutrements.

The coat is made from jean cloth, is lined with cotton, is quilted for extra warmth in the chest and is closed with four civilian button. It folds compactly to fit into your knapsack when the morning chill is gone and the afternoon heats up.

Here is what some of our customers have said about the Weller Overcoats:

The hood on the overcoat is particularly nice when the cold breeze and snow flakes come whipping through camp, many were envious. Ken in Oklahoma

With some of the snowy and cold weather we have had this past winter in the Northeast, I have even worn the coat to work or to shovel snow, and it has kept me warm all the way. I have worn the coat to two reenactments now as well as to the drill weekend for my unit. Not only did I receive some very good compliments, but the darn thing actually kept me dry with damp and rainy weather at the two reenactments!
Gerard in New Jersey

I received my Weller Hooded Confederate Overcoat last night and I must say that I am very pleased. The coat fit perfectly and your workmanship is that of the highest quality. Your excellent research shows in the quality product you produce. It is apparent that great time and care is involved in the products you make.
