Federal Issue
Shirt Kit |
|
My shirt
kits come with everything you need to assemble the most
commonly worn army shirt in the 1850-60s. Shirts are cut from
domet flannel. The shirts come in only one size as did the
shirts in the Civil War, this 'issue' size will fit up to a
size 44" chest. This would be a good beginner project for
anyone just learning to sew.

|
This kit is based off
of an original pair of trowsers in the US Quartermaster Museum and
were originally manufactured by JT Martin. Of all the original US
trowsers I've examined, this pair is the easiest to assemble. It
has the least amount of hand work of any extant pair.

Shelter Half (Type II) Kit |
|
Shelter halves are just a square
piece of cotton, so why are they so expensive?
Well, they don't require much raw materials, but they do require
23 hand sewn buttonholes and 8 hand sewn eyelets. I'll put
together the body of the tent for you and you'll do the handwork.
|
Kit Includes:
-
Pre-sewn shelter half with buttons and
grommets marked out ready for you to sew. In short, I'll do
the machine work, you do the hand work!
All the buttons and ropes you
need.
